The Easter story is the greatest God Story ever told, because it reveals the heart of a Father who would not leave His children in their sin or their graves. It is the story of a Savior who stepped into our brokenness, carried our guilt, and rose again so we could live with Him forever.

Jesus’ journey to the cross began long before soldiers arrested Him in the garden. At the Passover table, He took the bread and the cup—symbols of Israel’s rescue from slavery—and showed His disciples that God was about to bring a greater deliverance. His body would be broken. His blood would be poured out. Freedom from sin was at hand. Even as He prayed in Gethsemane, overwhelmed with sorrow, He surrendered to the Father’s will so that redemption could unfold.

The trials that followed were unjust by every standard. False witnesses, political pressure, and fearful leaders pushed Jesus toward a sentence He did not deserve. Yet none of it was outside God’s plan. Jesus could have called down angels, but He chose instead to walk the path that would save the world. Love held Him there.

On the cross, Jesus bore the weight of humanity’s sin. He suffered, bled, and died between two criminals. His final breath was not defeat but completion— “It is finished.” The price was paid. The way back to God was opened.

His body was placed in a borrowed tomb, sealed behind a stone and guarded by soldiers. To His followers, it looked like the end. But God was not finished. On the third day, the stone was rolled away. Angels announced what no one expected: “He is not here. He is risen.” Death had lost its power. Hope had a name again.

For forty days, the risen Christ walked with His disciples, restoring their faith and opening their eyes to the Scriptures. He showed them that every moment—Passover, the garden, the trials, the cross, the empty tomb—was part of God’s story of redemption. Then, on a hillside outside Jerusalem, Jesus ascended into heaven, promising that His Spirit would empower them to carry this good news to the world.

The Easter timeline matters because it reveals a God who writes with purpose. Jesus died at Passover to show He is the true Lamb providing the ultimate blood sacrifice. He was taken down before the Sabbath because God’s plan was unfolding with precision. Every detail testified that salvation was not an accident, but a promise kept.

Easter is God’s story of love stronger than sin, hope stronger than despair, and life stronger than death. It is the story that changes every other story—including ours.
