As with every growth company, financial capital is necessary to take advantage of the opportunities. Paul Thomas had been talking with many sources which were reluctant to provide investment dollars into a currently non-profitable business, even if it has tremendous upside. Listening to negative responses can be very discouraging and cause stress and anxiety.

A friend of Paul’s, Clayton, who is a medical doctor, approached Paul to say that he had experienced something that he had never experienced before. He was convinced that God spoke to him telling him to get Paul and his wife as well as, Clayton and his wife to fast and pray for 72 hours and the answer would come. In the 72nd hour Paul receives a phone call telling him that an investment company wanted to invest a large amount in this growth opportunity.

God has been with us every step of the way and has made Himself very evident in this profound and exciting way. God has made it clear that He is the owner of our business and wants to be involved in everything, big or small. He has made it clear that He is in control and wants us to thank Him for everything, regardless of our feelings or circumstances.

We have experienced the love of God in a deeper way and have come to the realization that God wants the best for us. Psalm 37:4 says, “Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart.” We are all guilty of asking God for our selfish desires, thinking we know what is best for us. In essence, we treat God like Santa Claus telling Him what we selfishly want. We struggle with God’s definition of best which many times comes with negative temporal components.

When we pray together for our business, we yield to God’s will in our requests. We have learned to focus on Jeremiah 29:11 where God says, “I know the plans that I have for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” We are learning to accept God’s “best” plans. And in so doing, we are in an attitude of gratitude.
